We’re looking for collaborative, high-integrity leaders who are ready to "find their light" and help others do the same. Being a director is more than a title; it’s a commitment to professional excellence and shared responsibility. Our ideal board members::

  • Collaborative Creators: You will chair one committee and serve on at least one other to keep our mission moving forward.

  • Effective Communicators: You’ll provide quarterly reports on your committee work and maintain timely contact with the rest of the team.

  • Professional & Integrated: We value integrity and professional conduct in every undertaking.

  • Committed Advocates: Board members support our growth by contributing $60 annually toward student scholarships.

  • Lifelong Learners: You’ll stay informed by reading the CETA Constitution/By-Laws and participating in self-evaluations to help us grow as a team.

The 'Rehearsal' Schedule

Success on the board requires full participation. Upon election, members commit to attending all scheduled meetings for the full agenda.Annual CETA Teacher’s Conference

  • Quarterly Board Meetings: A mix of in-person and virtual sessions held throughout the year, including January (In Person), March (Virtual), June (Virtual), and August (In Person).

  • CETA Annual State Conference: Held in September/October, including the Annual Business Meeting.

  • CETA Bi-Annual Board Retreat: An in-person intensive held in January following election years to set priorities and long-term strategy.

  • Special Events: Choose at least two other events to attend, such as the High School Theatre Festival (MLK Weekend), Middle Stage Fest, or Arts Advocacy Day in Sacramento.

To ensure you can focus on the mission, CETA provides:

  • Travel Support: Reimbursement for out-of-pocket mileage ($.25/mile for 2+ hour drives) or transportation costs up to $150.

  • Flight Arrangements: CETA will arrange and purchase flights for mandatory events, meetings, and retreats.

  • Hospitality: Shared lodging and meals are provided for board retreats, plus lunch during all in-person meetings.

  • Conference Discounts: A significant discount on conference registration.
